Kent

The 2021 UK and Ireland preliminaries will be hosted by The University of Kent, located in the beautiful and historical city of Canterbury in the South East. The event runs over the weekend of Friday 19th till Sunday 21st February, with the exam on the Saturday morning.

The competition is not the sole purpose of the weekend, it is a chance to meet fellow physics students from around the UK and Ireland and explore a new city. Over the course of the event students can attend three talks given by professional physicists, socialise with other teams and see the research being conducted at Kent at our `Speed Science’ event.

Accommodation including breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided for participants for the duration of the event. Unfortunately, we cannot cover travel expenses and encourage participants to ask your school to fund your travel. Participants will be staying at a local hostel, which is a short walk from the University and city centre.
